Engineering Manager

Position Overview:

Join ShyftLabs as an Engineering Manager, for our Noida location, where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement efficient solutions. The Manager of Software Engineering plans, designs, communicates and implements reliable, scalable and extensible software systems. You will manage feature-focused teams in India, made up of iOS engineers, Android engineers, and QA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our dynamic team and enhance our backend development processes.

Job Responsibilities:

• Evangelizes software development best practices and sets a high bar for other engineers to meet.
• Establishes a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, high degree of craftsmanship.
• Leads technical discussions and plans to improve overall software quality.
• Collaborates with Product Management, Design, and other teams to define and deliver on the product and technical roadmap.
• Proposes and oversees timelines for engineering projects.
• Directs leaders of scrum teams.
• Fosters and facilitates Agile methodologies.
• Works in an agile environment using SCRUM.
• Works with Project Managers/leads to consume product backlog and generate technical design.
• Designs solutions, writes and tests code.
• Mentor/groom Lead engineers to be next IT leaders.
• Manage and Lead COTS evaluation that will improve SDLC efficiency for the team.
• Type of supervision given:
• Leads teams of contractors, influences horizontally.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related fields, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of IT and business industry work experience in managing mobile development teams or projects for iOS and/or Android, and influencing managers and key stakeholders.
• Requires technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and other related disciplines/process
