Your role at Baxter:

This pivotal role drives the successful execution of capital projects within the MPT Engineering department, ensuring alignment with corporate governance, budget, and strategic objectives. You will act as a subject matter authority (SME) in capital project management, leading cross-functional teams and navigating the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion.

What you'll be doing:

Capital Governance & Budgeting:

• Champion adherence to corporate capital governance policies and procedures.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of regional capital project management processes.
  • Conduct internal control reviews and audits for capital projects.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with capital projects.
• Budgeting:
  • Handle the regional capital budget allocation process.
  • Evaluate and analyze capital project proposals for financial viability and strategic alignment.
  • Develop and present investment recommendations to senior management.
  • Track and supervise project performance against budget and schedule.

New Capital Request Review & Project Management:

• Review:
  • Own the review and evaluation of new capital requests from various collaborators.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to assess technical feasibility, operational impact, and financial implications.
  • Collaborate with collaborators to develop robust business cases and project plans.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management for approval.

• Management:
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to project teams throughout the project lifecycle (planning, design, construction, commissioning, qualification).
  • Handle project scope, schedule, budget, and risk proactively.
  • Identify and resolve project issues and roadblocks optimally.
  • Track and report on project progress to stakeholders clearly.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including cGMP.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay ahead of industry trends and standard processes in capital project management.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve capital project management efficiency.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team.

What you'll bring:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering,
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in capital project management within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Solid track record of optimally handling sophisticated capital projects on time and within budget.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work optimally in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and other relevant project management software.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations is a plus.
