Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager, you will be the leader of full stack, cross functional engineering teams, taking on the role of tech lead and people manager. This role will unblock your teams' potential in terms of day to day processes and long term success.

Additionally, this role will partner with other leaders to define best practices regarding code, systems design, CI/CD, observability, and reliability across the Engineering department.

We aim to foster an Engineering culture that emphasizes full-stack development teams that are empowered to make as many decisions as possible in their technical direction and processes.

Location

This role can be located in NY, NJ, CT, and PA - (this is a hybrid role with expectations to come in office)

Responsibilities

• Be a hands-on part of a multidisciplinary team to build next-generation software products (full-stack) and solutions
• Be accountable for delivering well-architected, scalable designs and solutions
• Mentor Engineers on architecture, coding and systems design best practices
• Keep the engineering organization aligned on OKRs and other business objectives
• Author technical documents and artifacts for all stages of the software development life cycle

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering
• 7+ years of relevant production work experience in back-end, web or mobile development; preferably in GoLang or Typescript.
• 3+ years of people management experience
• Track record of success in terms of ability to execute projects.
• Willingness to work with and mentor other members of the engineering team.
• Willingness to partner with Product to understand upcoming projects, and weigh decisions in terms of scope and business objectives.
• Willingness to champion team needs, and get involved with strategic decisions in terms of personnel, business needs, and technical projects.
• Deep understanding of API technologies.
• Deep understanding of SQL technologies.
• Deep understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms, and experience creating and evaluating technical design documents.

Nice To Have

• Experience building and working with full stack engineering teams that support a vertical slice of the product.
• Familiarity with best practices of SRE (e.g. SLOs, KPIs, postmortems, incident management, toil reduction, etc.).
• Experience with SOC compliant Fintech startups.
• Experience working against AWS services.
• Understanding of Agile, and a willingness to pivot and define software development processes.
• Experience owning technical roadmaps and initiatives, and leading cross-team guilds.

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $180,000 - $200,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
