JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Adient is seeking an Engineering Manager at our automotive JIT complete seat plant in Georgetown, KY. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Program Engineering.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Engineering Manager will lead, direct and motivate the Engineering group to accomplish the following:

• Guide the design / development / implementation of new product lines and overall product strategy.
• Formulate, administrate, and coordinate Engineering activities to improve plant performance and reduce waste and delay.
• Promote cost reduction
• Establish / maintain/ improve processes
• Select and train personnel
• Determine Engineering and technical requirements of maintenance required on tools and dies.
• Maximize profit potential of the facility by interacting with the customer, sales, purchasing, and quality to develop robust, manufacturable product designs.
• Develop prototypes for new products within timing and cost constraints established by our customer
• Establish cost estimating structure to insure timely and accurate cost responses to our customer.
• Develop plans / methods /controls with manufacturing and quality to ensure proper quality standards.
• Conduct direct contacts with the customer to ensure timing, cost and manufacturing issues are being resolved to their satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with tool and equipment suppliers to ensure best possible tooling sources at minimum cost to the company.
• Maintain current knowledge base of new developments in manufacturing to ensure maximum profitability for the facility. This includes technology, OSHA, EPA processes, tooling electronics and related technological items.
• Interpretation of the following: customer design requirements, customer quality requirements, Adient product liability issues.
• Selection and management of tooling and equipment projects.
• Utilize methods for continuous improvement.

Education and Experience Required:

• B.S. Engineering discipline.
• 5-7 years minimum manufacturing / industrial engineering experience.
• 3-5 years engineering management experience.
