Engineering Manager, Billing

About the role:
The Billing Team owns our cloud billing system, responsible for translating customer resource usage into billing data and ensuring CoreWeave’s customers experience an intuitive and well-designed billing insights interface. We are seeking an engineering leader that will manage a skilled group of 4-6 engineers. You will focus on establishing strong relationships with internal partners to understand and meet their needs when it comes to designing and developing our next generation billing experience. You will also be responsible for maintaining our existing billing infrastructure. As a leader within the Billing Team, you will have an opportunity to:
- Identify and minimize sources of friction that impede your team’s ability to be the best engineering team they can be.
- Collaborate with product, design and business data teams to coordinate dependencies and achieve project goals.
- Partner with your technical leaders to maintain priorities, develop roadmaps, and make critical resourcing decisions.
- Drive the culture and tone for how your team keeps score both in how they support each other and how they enable the rest of CoreWeave.
- Support and advocate for your team, ensuring they have the resources and opportunities needed to succeed and grow within the organization.
- Guide engineers in growing their technical skills by cultivating an environment of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.

- You have eight or more years of experience in a software engineering role, with a background in developing maintainable, resilient and scalable systems.
- You have two or more years of experience building and/or leading distributed teams of diverse individuals.
- You believe in a bottoms-up style of leadership that focuses on enablement, communication, organization, and inspiration over task management.
- You are comfortable planning and executing in an ambiguous startup environment, coordinating with different stakeholders, and guiding team members on the path to success.
- You have prior experience helping teams translate and break down their use cases and requirements into actionable work.
- You have prior experience building a cloud billing system, including ensuring compliance and auditability.
- You have advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and Prometheus.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $185,000-$220,000 annually. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
