Main Responsibilities:
- Using agile methodologies to prioritize, estimate, and deliver projects efficiently
- Driving your team’s hiring and onboarding processes.
- Mentoring and developing the engineers on your team, including setting their goals and delivering their reviews.
- Working with product managers to build out and execute your team’s strategic vision and roadmap.
- Working with tech leads to fleshing out technical requirements and advocating for your team’s engineering investments.
- Fostering your team’s engineering excellence and controlling their technical debt.
- Coordinating projects with cross-team dependencies.
- Communicating project status and issues to stakeholders.
Your Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience as a professional software developer.
- 3+ years of people management experience.
- You are a hands-on manager who has retained technical expertise in a stack similar to Rover’s (Python/Django, ReactJS, React Native).Â
- You have experience with or are excited about working on a consumer product and collaborating closely with product managers and UX designers.
- You have experience developing engineer careers and managing team performance.
- You are passionate about developer experience, automated testing, code quality, and engineering best practices.
- You have experience fostering a collaborative environment, and your values align with Rover's core values.
