Engineering Manager - DevOps
Job Description
Rocket Travel by Agoda is looking for an Engineering Manager with experience in cloud operations and CI/CD to lead our team of systems and site reliability engineers. In this role you will work closely with our software engineering teams to deliver solutions to our customers and travelers around the world. You will also collaborate with our global DevOps, SecOps and InfraOps teams based in Bangkok, Thailand who manage our on-premise environments and systems.

- Total Compensation is based on experience - Salary: The starting point for this role is $150,000 plus a discretionary bonus of up to 25%

- Lead a western hemisphere-based team of Site Reliability and Systems Engineers primarily working with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Global DevOps, InfraOps and SecOps teams in APAC who manage applications and services on our private cloud in our data centers.
- Recruit, coach, and develop top engineers.
- Manage our CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling for our cloud infrastructure.
- Triage security issues and shape our security policies.
- Manage cloud infrastructure optimization, performance monitoring, forecasting costs and application monitoring.
- Keep up with the latest trends in the DevOps, automation, tooling and AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Track teams' efficiency and quality of deliverables and regularly adjust processes and timelines to ensure high quality delivery.
- Identify the most high-value projects and keep the team focused on these projects.
- Manage OKRs and lead the technical roadmap for the team and their area of responsibility.
- Identify areas of strategic technical importance and work with teams to address it.
- Have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Network Engineering, technology management, or related field of study, and 5 years of experience working as Site Reliability Engineer or in a related occupation.
- 3+ years of experience running an engineering team.
- You’re able to work with other engineering managers, product owners and other technology leaders to deliver an integrated solution.
- You have at least 5 years of experience with each of the following:
- working in an agile development team;
- making data driven decisions;
- working as a system owner with operational responsibility;
- infrastructure, architecture, performance and data;
- at least one of the following programming languages, including: Java, Scala, Python, Kotlin or Go;
- working with and managing AWS services
- systems architecture in complex, scalable and fault tolerant distributed systems;
- DevOps, Automation and CI/CD.
- managing a budget, forecasting and reporting on infrastructure, monitoring and CI/CD costs
- You are willing to adjusting some of your weekly hours to collaborate with counterparts in APAC based teams.
