Engineering Manager

Eaton's FFD Fluid Filtration Division division is currently seeking a Engineering Manager.

What you'll do:

Job summary

This position is responsible to plan, organize and manage the plant's overall Engineering activities in support of manufacturing operations. Provides the necessary technical direction for productivity, process/product improvement and reduction of overall product cost, while meeting production schedules. It is also responsible for product integrity, ETO products introduction, ECO/ MCO implementation as well as providing the necessary technical direction to improve productivity, process/product improvement and reduction of overall product cost for ETO orders while meeting production schedules. Serves as liaison between Engineering Division and plant's engineering.

Job responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Evaluate strength of organization and provide recommendations to meet current and future needs.
-Facilitate training of personnel as required and develop and nurture key engineering talent.
-Oversee day-to-day operations as related to MFG engineering test and product engineering.
-Provide technical leadership to ensure a quality and cost-effective product, produced on time following the customer's specifications.
-Authorize & approve all test procedures, PFMEA's, method sheets and work instructions to ensure processes optimization.
-Identify and optimize current and new manufacturing processes using Eaton Lean System and 6 Sigma techniques.
-Drive cost reduction initiatives by leading cost out events and promoting a culture of continue improvement.
-Drive PM activities for critical equipment
-Compose Capital Appropriation Requests to support emerging and existing technologies manage plant capital plan.
-Direct Engineering Services in implementing changes to all factory operations
-Support initiatives to improve EHS culture; Participate in a EHS team (Ergo, Safety, Green, etc).
-Ability to understand and interpret all codes and regulations according to ASME certifications and processes.
-Knowledge and skill with welding (tig, mig, sub-arc, electrode) various metals (carbon steel, stainless, carbon nickel, monel, etc.) is a must.
-Knowledge and understanding of WPS's, interpretation and understanding of Customer Quality Requirements per specifications
-Provide engineering & technical leadership to the manufacturing operations for ETO orders or new projects.
-Lead and coordinate at the plant level new product development projects (Pro-Launch) and product design changes (ECO).
-Ensure BOM and Product Drawings are accurate and Updated according to MFGPro for all ETO orders.
-Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost out improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve business goals and objectives
-Participate in PROLaunch member when required.

Qualifications:

Education level required

• BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering required

Years and area of experience required

• More than 7 years of experience

Technical knowledge

• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, six sigma, DOE, capability studies, process mapping, FMEA, and root cause analysis, project management experience, managing engineering or manufacturing functions and building organizational capability, bilingual English-Spanish

Soft skills

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills , must be able to manage multiple tasks with aggressive deadlines
