THE ROLE: Engineering Manager
Presidio is seeking an Engineering Manager (EM) to join our team in the Orlando, Florida area area preferred. We may entertain other candidates in Metro areas of New York, California and Connecticut. This position is aligned to delivering professional services to large Enterprise accounts in the Media and Entertainment segment as well as other Enterprise accounts. This role is customer facing and will include interactions with partners and subcontractors. Delivery performance is measured against key performance metrics and customer satisfaction.
As an EM, your primary responsibility is to manage the delivery of professional services for your assigned territory. The Engineering Manager oversees activities and people associated with project delivery success factors: profitability, resources utilization, on-time, on-budget and client satisfaction. He/She will build and identify additional opportunities by fostering and expanding client relationships, cultivating additional revenue opportunities, and collaborating with our sales team. This position has management oversight of the service delivery engineering team. The EM is responsible for partnering with their Area Vice President and Territory Sales Vice President to exceed annual goals for revenue, growth and profitability; and for recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent on their team. This is a critical role as Presidio continues to grow a strong solution-oriented professional services business focused on the client experience. This position reports directly to the Area VP of Engineering.
Travel Requirements:
In this role you will be expected to travel up to 40% throughout central FL. It will be based in Orlando, FL
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage to Regional/Territory Service Profitability Goals. Work closely with regional management and Area professional services management to ensure service margin goals are met.
- Optimize Engineering Billable Utilization. Monitor engineering utilization and maintain regional utilization targets for delivery team so as to achieve profitability goals.
- Ensure Service Delivery Team Follows Engagement Methodology. Make sure all projects are planned and executed using Presidio principles to achieve project success, customer satisfaction, and regional profit goals. Serve as an escalation point for any customer escalations. Constantly review project and operational processes for continual improvement.
- Manage the Proposal Review and Approval Process (RAP). Work with sales, presales, and regional management teams to ensure all service proposals, service agreements, and RFP responses adhere to RAP process.
- Ensure Accurate Engineering Scheduling. Work with regional Delivery Ops and PPM teams to ensure engineering schedules are accurate, up-to-date, and are not over booked by PMs so as to achieve billable utilization goals.
- Develop Technical Expertise of Team. Ensure service team has the technical expertise to deliver the professional services that are in alignment with both regional management and Presidio's go-to- market strategy.
- Maintain Practice Excellence. Recruit and retain Managing Consultants (MC) and/or engineers, partners, and subcontractors. Meet with MC and set goals with them on practice improvement
- Maintain High Customer Satisfaction on all Service Delivery. Maintain visibility into services performed. Work with all parties involved to ensure consistent high quality delivery.
- Manage Service Team Time Reporting. Ensure regional Engineering and Project Management time is accurate, complete, and is turned in and approved on time.
- Control Costs and Expenses. Monitor team expenses and identify cost savings opportunities. Educate/advise services team on the current regional financial picture and encourage/instill a sense of company ownership/fiscal responsibility.
- Support Regional Sales Team. Work with presales leadership and sales team when needed to augment presales engineers for presales assistance.
- Identify, Assess, Evaluate, Hire and Retain Best Consulting and Delivery Talent.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions with team leads and senior management to include internal and external Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)
- Ensure Effective Team Communications. Maintain excellent employee relations, communicating regularly with the services team, individually and collectively, to ensure company goals and expectations are clearly communicated, understood and met. Communicate with each team member regularly to provide feedback and guidance as well as receive feedback.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
- 7+ years combined experience in professional services, engineering, leadership, and management
- Experience and/or Professional level Certification(s) in one or more of Presidio's portfolio of top manufacturing partners
- Experience in network, security, wireless, data center, collaboration, and cloud technologies/solutions
- Experience in continual improvement process and operations
- Ability to lead by example
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively, in written and oral form, to a variety of audiences
- Proven Technical problem-solving
- Proven Customer Relationship and Negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and grow team(s)
