Engineering Manager, Google Distributed Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, C, C#).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  
• 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Experience working with k8s and public cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Experience contributing to open source projects or working with open source community.
• Knowledge in building systems.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Direct, manage and grow the team, and guide the engineering work for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) team.
• Build and nurture a performing diverse team.
• Develop a roadmap for projects in collaborations with various stakeholders, team lead and product manager.
• Collaborate with various sub-teams in the Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) air-gapped organization via joint projects.
• Guide all technical aspects of development, including technical requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration.
