We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Hardware Engineering team. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and designers in developing state-of-the-art hardware to solve some of the most difficult and interesting challenges in robotics. You will join a team of dedicated, supportive, and enthusiastic people to help create the future of manufacturing. Come solve the hardest problems with the best team on the planet!
What You’ll Do- Build and develop a strong engineering culture, responsible for delivering creative and scalable solutions
- Collaborate closely with the AI, Robotics, Software, and Operations teams to help drive projects to completion
- Execute existing product strategy and provide insights for future product roadmaps and hardware designs
- Day-to-day project management and reporting, primarily utilizing Jira, Confluence, and Airtable
- Manage, direct, and support a team of mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers focusing on the AW-3 product
- Hire, train, develop, and coach team members
- You have a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering from a college/university or equivalent qualification
- You have previous experience in leading a team of mechanical engineers with expertise in automation equipment and/or product development
- You have the ability to manage within cross-functional organizations developing complex products
- You are fluent in SolidWorks, including structural and thermal FEA
- You have hands-on prototyping, machine shop, precision assembly experience
- You have pneumatic system design experience
- You have knowledge of common materials and finishes
- You have a working-level understanding of power & control systems
- You have extensive experience developing Zero to One products, and can advise on development approaches to achieve a new product capability
