Engineering Manager, Host Pricing & Settings

The Difference You Will Make:

The Host Pricing & Settings org is looking for an Engineering Manager (EM) to help us craft the next generation of tools for Airbnb hosts. Our team empowers Airbnb hosts to better run their business by providing the tools and education to implement pricing strategies that adapt to their evolving goals. As an EM working in Host Pricing & Settings and specifically Host Calendar, you will help drive feature delivery and build the teams that directly help hosts run their business day-to-day.

A Typical Day: 

• Lead the organizational and technical direction of our current and future Host Calendar infrastructure;
• Lead a robust team by attracting top talent, mentoring and growing individual engineers and managing conflict;
• Nurture a culture of technical quality from design, through code review, to production.
• Drive delivery of cross-functional projects;  
• Work with product and design partners to explore problem spaces and devise solutions to customer problems; 
• Drive your teams to create technical and execution strategies for new projects and legacy migrations as well as coordinate implementation of those solutions; 
• Follow data-driven approaches to improve our software development and delivery processes;
• Ability to work in areas outside of your usual comfort zone and show motivation for personal growth

Your Expertise:

• 3+ years of engineering management experience, with 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast paced tech environment.
• You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the engineering organization.
• You are a strong problem solver and have led a team that is on-call for production systems before.
• Experience leading and shipping large scope technical projects in collaboration with multiple experienced engineers and cross-functional partners.
• You have previous experience as a hands-on developer and can advocate for engineering best practices including iterative work breakdown, testing and logging. 
• Strong ownership and experience building and growing teams that build distributed systems and native client applications (iOS and Android).

How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $200,000 and $254,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
