Engineering Manager II/Engineering Manager Senior - Analysis Section Lead

This position reports to the Senior Engineering Manager of the Mission Architecture Organization
What You'll Do:
  • Lead and manage the Mission Analysis Section which combines multiple technical disciplines from across the enterprise to include Mission Modeling, Mission Data Processing, and AI/ML development and guidance.
  • Provide leadership and functional direction for the Mission Analysis Section by exhibiting behaviors aligned with the tenants of Ball's Inspire, Connect and Achieve (ICA) leadership model. The behaviors would include a unifying vision, understanding the diverse needs of others to meet business challenges and acting with humility and a collaborative spirit.
  • Support cross-enterprise communication and collaboration to establish common tools and capabilities for programs and other technical developments.
  • Development and implement the strategy for the Mission Analysis Section.
  • Grow the Mission Analysis engineering capabilities and capacity to achieve the goals of the business.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:
  • Engineering Manager II - BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
  • Engineering Manager Senior - BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in developing system architectures, architecture trade studies, performance analysis, system modeling, system architecture realization.
  • Experience in space-based systems engineering or ground-based systems engineering.
  • Experience in technology management and strategic direction preferred.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering preferred.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and detail oriented.
  • Possess solid critical thinking skills.
  • A drive for results and executional excellence.
  • Comfortable interacting with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
  • May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
  • May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Verification that your current security clearance or government customer access meets the requirement for this position will be required.
Relocation for this position is available.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEERING MANAGER II: $162,000 - $223,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEERING MANAGER SENIOR: $181,000 - $250,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
  • Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
