Engineering Manager II/Senior - Space System Mission Assurance
Manage a team of Mission Assurance Managers (MAM) for the Space Systems (Civil Space, Military Space, National Space Strategic Business Units) organization within Ball Aerospace. Position resides within the Enterprise Assurance (EA) Strategic Capabilities Unit (SCU) and Mission Assurance (MA) department, reports to the Director of Space Systems Assurance, and has functional responsibility for the entire Space Systems MAM group. The MAM Functional Manager works closely with the SBU Business Assurance Managers (BAMs) to manage and support the MAMs for each business unit.
What You'll Do:

• Functionally manage Space Systems Mission Assurance Managers to include recruitment, training, mentoring and providing for career path advancement.
• Consulting with SBU Business Assurance Managers (BAM), conduct performance assessments and personnel actions, support salary reviews, recognition programs, ensure group has the appropriate processes in place to meet needs of programs and compliance with approved standards.
• Team with SBU Business Assurance Managers, Senior MAMs and Leads to estimate staffing needs of programs, including needed skill sets and clearances.
• Ensure Mission Assurance Managers are appropriately trained to meet needs of programs, SBUs and Customers, identifying and providing for training exercises, mentoring relationships and opportunities to connect with other SCU and SBU leaders.
• Serve as primary point of contact to SBU Program Managers in matters of personnel performance or conflict resolution.
• Support Enterprise Assurance, Mission Assurance department strategic and operational planning working with SBU BAMs to develop, and document needed strategies and capability development projects, and staffing these projects accordingly.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:

• Engineering Manager II - BS/BA in related field plus 12 years or more related experience.
• Engineering Manager Senior - BS/BA in related field plus 15 years or more related experience.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
• Experience in design and/or systems engineering, project or program management roles for a Space Systems development program.
• Familiarity with the role of mission assurance manager and related quality, specialty engineering, risk management and security disciplines is highly desired.
• Ability to self-start, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work independently and with a team.
• Ability to apply sound leadership and management principles to an organization of high performing software and systems engineers.
• Demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments.
• Influencing, communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position.
• Experience operating within classified program environments.
• Demonstrated successful management of project engineers and managers working in support of space systems development programs.
• Proven track record in management of electronics design and development tasks as a lead.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEERING MANAGER II: $162,000 - $223,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
• HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEERING MANAGER SENIOR: $181,000 - $250,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
• Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
