Engineering Manager, iOS Platform

The iOS Platform team’s mission is to maximize iOS developer effectiveness by providing a dependable and easy-to-use platform to quickly ship quality products at scale. The team is responsible for a broad scope–from build systems, IDE integration, CI efficiency and developer tooling, to core libraries and application frameworks. Through these technologies, the team defines and drives the developer experience for iOS engineers at Airbnb.s 

A Typical Day: 

• As the Engineering Manager for the iOS Platform team you will be responsible for shaping the vision and driving the strategy and roadmap for the team.
• You will lead the team to create industry leading solutions to the problems of developing high quality, design-driven iOS applications at scale.
• You’ll have the opportunity to engage with and influence senior technical leaders across the company. You will bring a strong perspective that inspires change and motivates engineers to develop simple solutions to complex problems.

Your Expertise:

• 2+ years of engineering management experience, with 8+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast paced tech environment.
• Expertise in iOS development, preferably with experience in creating frameworks and platforms used by large engineering teams
• You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and with teams across the engineering organization
• Retained, mentored and hired senior engineers
• Effectively worked with senior leadership in setting strategic 6+ month direction.
• Experience with effectively creating alignment with multiple teams and operating well in ambiguity 
• Track record in partnering with recruiting to build incredible engineering teams
• Actively coached and mentored team members in their careers
• Been actively involved in setting product strategy
• Made culture choices that positively impact all of engineering
• Shipped several large scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams

How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $190,000 and $245,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Airbnb,Inc. can employ in  states where we have registered entities. Currently, employees can not be located in: Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware and Rhode Island.
