Engineering Manager (Localization/Internationalization)
Job Description
Localization is a strategic bet for Miro, and it is becoming an integral part of our product development lifecycle for all current and future products.
The Localization team owns the infrastructure and common frameworks we rely on to localize Miro and empower everyone to collaborate, no matter where they are, what languages they speak, and what date format they use.
About the roleAs an Engineering Manager in Localization, you will support the whole product engineering team at Miro with best-in-class localization infrastructure supporting web, desktop, mobile, email and other platforms. Together with your team, you will own tooling and processes around localization, enabling simple setup, short production time and high UX quality. In this role, your mission is to embed localization into the product development process at Miro in a streamlined manner by providing support for all platforms we are building for (web, native apps - mobile and desktop, email and more).
This position is open to remote candidates across EU, UK and Israel.
What you’ll do- Hire and develop new talent
- Together with your team, continuously improve localization capabilities at Miro
- Lead the team that will build the internal localization infrastructure and tooling that will allow us to scale our localization processes across the organization and support connections to various content types and management systems
- Support innovative processes to further support localization scale across the org
- Introduce automated processes to ensure Continuous localization to support CICD
- Define internationalization best practices and create documentation, ensuring adoption across engineering
- Build and evangelize a global culture across engineering, integrate into engineering onboarding and create internationalization courses
- Contribute as a hands on engineer
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of people manager experience
- Experience building frontend applications using modern programming languages, frameworks and technologies
- Experience setting up deployment pipelines and understanding of content delivery mechanisms
- Experience building and maintaining localization infrastructure (TMS, continuous localization)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work across a wide range of teams
