Engineering Manager - MarTech

Location: Berlin, office-first

The cross-functional MarTech team is responsible for improving our customer acquisition. This includes optimising our worldwide online marketing spendings, attributing new customers to marketing campaigns, automating content creation through AI, calculating the customer lifetime value of our merchants, and making data from various sources available for analysis and decision making.

We are looking for a humble servant Engineering Manager to lead this team.

What you’ll do:

• Create an environment for your cross-functional team of backend, data science, and machine learning engineers to excel. 
• Collaborate with the Product Manager to shape your team's strategy and provide a long-term vision and guidance.
• Be responsible for the delivery of that vision and help define, plan, and drive large-scale projects with stakeholders across the organisation from start to finish.
• Support the growth of your team members by providing continuous feedback, discussing development goals and helping with career development plans.
• Engage and raise your team's engineering culture.

You’ll be great for this role if:

• You have experience building, operating and leveraging data pipelines, machine learning models, and systems leveraging both. 
• You are renowned for great and inclusive people management, mentoring, and the professional development of engineers and data scientists on eye-level.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and manage ambiguity confidently. 
• You have led a distributed team, creating a healthy and collaborative environment. 
• You are constantly on the lookout for opportunities to experiment and improve ways of working, including hiring great talent. 
• It is a plus if you have experience in the MarTech field, or in generative, predictive, and attribution models.
