Engineering Manager - Platform Engineering

Platform Engineering is a diverse, global, agile engineering team that moves smart and fast by coming up with new backend systems technologies to improve and scale capabilities across businesses and use cases, 

We are looking for an impactful Engineering Manager - Platform Engineering  to join our team and take ownership of our platform infrastructure.  The ideal candidate will play a technical lead role with opportunity to manage  a team of talented engineers. The EM will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a scalable, reliable, and secure platform that supports our business objectives. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in software development, infrastructure management, and a strong understanding of cloud-based technologies.

• Design and implement a scalable, reliable, and secure platform infrastructure that supports our business objectives.
• Develop and maintain automated build, deployment, and monitoring systems to ensure the platform's availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to identify platform requirements and ensure that the platform meets the needs of our applications and services.
• Optimize the platform's performance and scalability to support rapid growth.
• Implement security best practices to protect the platform from external and internal threats.
• Participate in the platform's capacity planning and ensure that it can handle projected usage patterns.
• Troubleshoot platform issues and work with the development teams to resolve them.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and evaluate their potential impact on the platform's performance, scalability, and security.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers on the team.
• Manage and lead a team of engineers to develop and maintain a high-performing and efficient platform infrastructure.
• Being Data-Driven: be able to measure the platform performance with concrete metrics and collaborate closely with Data Science team. 
• Understanding of ways to lead a remote team developing in an Agile environment

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent field
• 7+ years of experience in software development or infrastructure management.
• Strong experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Ansible.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and experience implementing them.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively.
• Experience working with distributed teams (software engineers, product managers, etc. )

• Experience managing customer facing products and owning their metrics.
• Experience working in both startup and enterprise environments.

For candidates living in California, the expected base pay range is $204,000 - $265,000, depending on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
