Engineering Manager - Search Infrastructure

About This Team: On the Search Infrastructure team our mission is to build the fastest most reliable and scalable search platform to support the needs of our users and internal systems. We serve as the backbone that connects our customers with the information they need ensuring operational excellence through state-of-the-art infrastructure.

We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead our Search Infrastructure team. In this role you will work closely with search engineers and other infrastructure teams to scale our search platform while ensuring it remains performant and reliable. Your primary focus will be ensuring that our search system can meet the increasing demands of our customers both in terms of scale and performance as well as foster innovation in information retrieval field

In this role you will:

• Lead mentor and grow a team of backend and infrastructure engineers focused on building search systems.

• Collaborate with various teams to push the boundaries of search reliability performance and scale across a range of AI-driven and cloud-native services.

• Establish a diverse equitable and inclusive culture that fosters innovation radical candor and welcomes diverse viewpoints.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

• 15+ years of experience in engineering roles with at least 8 years in leadership positions managing large-scale infrastructure or systems engineering teams.

• Proven track record in designing building and operating large-scale distributed systems.

• Have deep expertise in scaling search systems to support high growth and optimizing search performance and reliability.

• Are passionate about diversity equity and inclusion with a proven track record of building inclusive teams.

• Have experience attracting and hiring top talent for highly competitive technical roles and can effectively communicate a vision that excites candidates.

• Are comfortable with fast-changing conditions and ambiguity and view challenges as opportunities to introduce order and structure when necessary.

• Experience in strategic planning and execution at a senior organizational level.
