Position Overview

The Manager of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) will provide leadership and guidance on application operations with a focus on automating the software delivery process. The Manager leads the design, build, and operational management of highly secure and scalable software and works to guarantee the reduction or removal of bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the software delivery process. You will focus on implementing tools and automating workflow capabilities that enable the software engineering teams to test, promote, and release code in a rapid, scalable manner. You will build, configure, and maintain the frameworks, tools, and systems that drive efficient performance and leads the design and implementation of real-time systems monitoring.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage and guide the Site Reliability Engineering team, to maintain and build out the company's infrastructure and servers
  • Lead and participate in writing automation
  • Direct capacity planning, provisioning and scaling of the application infrastructure including cost benefit analysis of vendor offerings
  • Implement standard methodologies for operations across our applications to improve availability, security, visibility and incident response
  • Measure and report progress against targets for improvement in cited areas
  • Evolve infrastructure, server, deployment strategies and testing to support our goal of 100% up time and quick turnaround of deployments for the engineering organization
  • Continuously improve our infrastructure to make it easy to deploy scalable, secure and fault tolerant
  • Drive the process the SRE team operates and iterates/releases
  • Collaborate with architects, software engineers and service providers to improve software delivery, configuration, monitoring and operation
  • Identify SRE staff development needs and implement a plan to grow and/or train staff in applicable abilities, specializations and certifications
  • Ensure information security standard methodologies for our Hosting infrastructure
  • Evolve infrastructure, server, deployment strategies and testing to support our goal of high availability as well as quick turnaround of internal deployments for the engineering organization
  • Build solutions and respond to urgent matters 
  • Develop high level design interaction diagrams, system functionality changes and robust change management processes

About You:

  • Qualified Manager of Site Reliability Engineering with a broad knowledge of hardware, software, network, and cloud technologies
  • Extensive experience providing a powerful combination of analysis, implementation, leadership and support to drive business forward via innovative technology stacks
  • Proven track record implementing technology based solutions to address complex information requirements
  • Expertise in Linux, AWS Cloud, CDNs, Build pipeline automation, and network/server infrastructures
  • Managed and mentored SRE/Operations/DevOps teams to increase efficiency while encouraging a work friendly and productive atmosphere
  • Proven understanding of Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity of Operations strategies, and SLAs
  • Experience with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
