Summary 

Codazen is seeking a skilled Engineering Manager with a hands-on approach and a strong focus on front-end development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leading exceptional teams to deliver web-based solutions, including consumer-facing websites, eCommerce sites, UI web components, and robust UI infrastructure. As an expert in technology, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and high-profile customers to develop technical strategies. In addition, you will oversee diverse engineering teams responsible for delivering complex projects with high value. Role Responsibilities 

  • Technical oversight of CMS Web Developers/Content Specialists as well as Front End/Full Stack Engineers 
  • Lead engineering teams in the delivery of highly visible and impactful web-based experiences, modern UI component libraries, and enterprise-level web-based infrastructure 
  • Own the holistic technical strategies and low-level execution of high-quality and cost-effective solutions that satisfy customer business requirements   
  • Ensure best of breed software development practices are adhered to while continuing to evolve with the industry  
  • Develop exceptional engineers and future leaders by staying engaged and committed to their personal and professional growth  
  • Drive and influence company growth from the success of your engineers and the value they bring to our clients  
  • Build high-performing teams both through active recruiting and diligent performance management

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant hands-on experience directly leading multi-disciplinary software engineering teams that deliver web-centric solutions  
  • Experience delivering large-scale, highly trafficked, high-profile websites (marketing, e-commerce, web portals & help centers) 
  • Ability to work as a hands-on Engineering Manager, capable of seamlessly engaging in coding tasks as necessary (limited to a maximum of 20% of their time)
  • Proficient in web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Firm understanding of DOM, SEO, and XML technologies
  • Deep knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla, WooCommerce, Drupal, Wix, etc.)
  • Experience delivering UI component libraries, tools, and secure UI infrastructure that support interactive websites at a global scale
  • Strong background with object-oriented programming principles utilizing JavaScript-based frameworks (React, Angular, Typescript, Node, etc.) and other back-end related languages
  • Ability to work with web development tools such as Chrome DevTools (e.g., Google lighthouse, Google analytics)
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills Experience with agile software development processes (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) in a consulting environment Some travel required (up to 20% within West Coast) 
  • This is a hybrid position, 3 days on-site, 2 days WFH; Monday through Friday based out of Salt Lake City, UT

 Plus 

  • Experience developing secure and scalable web services and API’s 
  • Firm understanding of HTTP response/request handling, DNS routing/configuration, and CDN’s 
  • Deep knowledge of Material UI, cloud services (AWS/Azure), as well as distributed systems like Akamai 
  • Ability to work with design tools such as Figma
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence, or similar systems
  • Master's degree in Computer Science is a plus  
  • Related certifications are a plus 

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and certifications.

Salt Lake City Pay Range

$137,000—$167,000 USD
