Salary Range
$115,400 - $196,100
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Are you passionate about your work and want to join a dynamic team that solves challenging issues? If so, you could be the highly motivated Engineering Program and Project Lead (Limited Term Employee) we seek to join Department 4750 to help stand up a new Construction Service Group!
This new team will provide Sandia with the internal capability to self-execute construction services at Sandia National Labs (SNL) in New Mexico. We are looking for strong program leaders with the ability, desire and experience to establish this new capability from inception.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Work with a team of leaders to build a new construction and operations capabilities to provide more agility and efficiencies.
- Work closely with executive leaders to understand and implement Sandia's ability to self-perform more construction work.
- Apply experience in facilities and infrastructure engineering, project management, construction management, acquisition strategy approaches, and operation to guide the work of the group.
- Work closely with procurement to understand supply chain risks and mitigations.
- Develop strategies to deal with logistics, work planning, and resource retention.
- Partner with leaders in planning, design, maintenance, projects, safety, and inspection.
- Develop processes, systems, and metrics that will help onboard and guide the workforce in their job.
- Identify needed systems and resources required to create this capability, partner across several different functional areas to establish a means of acquisition, then oversee its acquisition and integration into this new group.
- Promote excellence by managing work, overall program and project plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements.
- Work with contracted Architectural/Engineering Firms and Construction Contractors outside the organization to ensure SNL processes, procedures, specifications, and safety requirements are being met.
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, or related discipline plus eight (8) years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job; or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Five (5) or more years' experience in facilities, including project management, building operations, strategic planning, maintenance, architectural/engineering, and/or construction management.
- Experience and knowledge in safety related programs related to OSHA 1926, and 10 CFR 851.
- Ability to acquire and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture or other related to Facilities Project/Maintenance or Construction Management.
- Professional registrations and/or certifications in Facilities related areas such as: Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Registered Architect.
- Experience working with union contracts and employee labor relations.
- Facilities experience with project execution or facility management.
- Broad and balanced Construction-related experience (systems engineering, operations, project delivery, procurement, construction, and design).
- Broad knowledge of SNL processes, policies and procedures related to construction, procurement, finance, and facilities.
- Experience with project estimating planning, scheduling and risk management to include budgets.
- Experience with SNL design standards and construction specifications.
- Working knowledge of TRIRIGA, Maximo, and other SNL or DOE/NNSA software programs related to Projects.
- Demonstrated program management skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in developing trusting relationships among peers, staff, management, and customers.
- Experience in the development and delivery of presentations, proposals, reports, and documentation.
About Our Team
The 4750 Construction Service Team is being stood up to provide a more agile option to performing construction work at Sandia. We will establish core construction capabilities that will provide general construction, mechanical, electrical and plumbing capabilities. The initial scope of work will be to start with small projects and as the capability builds, we will increase the complexity of the work.

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Position Information
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
