POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for management of all designated Blue Stream Fiber projects and associated budgets and schedules, including vendor coordinating all deliverables and requirements of the entire cross-functional team. This person will represent Blue Stream as the expert on challenges relating to all projects. They will ensure that the everyone involved is aware of challenges that will affect timely project completion or cost, and pro-actively seek to identify and communicate any schedule and budget risks. They will ensure all work conducted in accordance with Blue Stream policies and procedures in support of Blue Stream objectives.

What your responsibilities will be:

  • Manage assigned projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all activities, including scope definition, design (BOM/L), product/equipment ordering, delivery of infrastructure, server systems, storage, connectivity, software, configurations, testing, optimization, close-out, and efficiently coordinated and completed on time within budget and in accordance with underlying contracts and deadlines.
  • Directly advise and influence decisions of leaders in all aspects of work.
  • Responsible to negotiate costs within scope of project, hold vendor accountable to ensure the budget is maintained; ensure everyone is aware of issues that will affect project completion or cost.
  • Develop accurate project plan, scope, and budget for all assigned projects, modify as needed and direct closeout of completed jobs including the receipt of all required documentation and managing scope creep.
  • Lead internal and external deployment meetings with other managers and team members to review the status of each job and implement changes as necessary to ensure timely project completion.
  • Travel and attend customer deployment meetings to provide customer with comprehensive job status reports and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.
  • Ensure accurate and complete files maintained for projects and appropriate closeout documents distributed in a timely manner in accordance with corporate and customer standards.
  • Ensure that all jobs are accurately maintained in a project tracking system, invoiced, and closed with complete accuracy.

What you bring to the table:

  • General knowledge of the telecommunications industry and operations
  • Specific knowledge of the Cable MSO industry a plus
  • Three to five years of IT Infrastructure and systems project management experience
  • Experience with the Customer journey and systems used for Sales, Provisioning, Data Warehouse, Work Force Management (WFM), and Warehousing desirable
  • Knowledge of infrastructure and application monitoring systems desirable (Solar Winds, iGLASS), or similar
  • Specific experience with Sales Force, Peak View WFM, Transcendent, and Calix, Momentum, and ICOMMS a plus
  • Ability to direct the diagnosis of workflow problems, critical paths and institute remedies
  • Knowledge of physical IT infrastructure components, including server systems, storage, cabling, and connectivity
  • Knowledge of logical IT connectivity, services, and functions, including information security, virtual machines, LANs, and WANS
  • Working knowledge of project management software and systems (e.g. MS Project, Planview, and SmartSheets)
  • Knowledge of project management methods and approaches (e.g. waterfall, predictive, or Agile)
  • Managing project budgets or related financial experience
  • Motivated in problem solving using problem solving approaches
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and process multiple work process and data streams

General Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate in the English language. Bilingual in any language is a plus
  • Able to organize and prioritize effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Office, Excel, and Power Point
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
