Position Role Type:
OnsiteAs a Material Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in advancing cutting-edge materials for our Ice Protection and Potable Water System product lines. Working independently, you'll partner with our Design Engineering team to support new product introductions and optimize our manufacturing processes.What You Will Do
- Work under minimal supervision to provide technical support to engineers.
- Perform moderately complex technical material testing tasks in a safe manner which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects.
- Confer with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results.
- Design and diagnose test setups and equipment to perform tests and resolve malfunctions.
- Maintenance of general and custom test equipment and laboratory along with performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Calibration of general and custom test equipment.
- Support production or material obsolescence related issues with products or test equipment.
- Leads in orienting, training, assigning, and checking work of lower level employees such as co-ops/interns.

- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Previous experience working in a materials testing lab/facility.
- Possess practical, hands-on skills and an ability to work collaboratively with technical personnel.
- Proven hands-on work capabilities and knowledge of standard material lab equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task, remain organized, and complete objectives on time.
- Experience in the following material testing lab equipment: Instron, Dynamic Mechanical Analyzers (DMAs), rheometer (MDR and/or ODR), viscometer, FTIR spectrometer, DSC calorimeter, Keyence microscope, rubber process analyzer, and thermal gravimetric analyzer.
- Experience operating and maintaining mill and calendar.
- Experience in installing and removing pneumatic de-icing boots for aircraft.
