Engineering Solutions, Director

Engineering Solution, Director is a leadership role accountable for the successful delivery of software and related platform services for the EDH. In this role, you will lead engineering teams that help with increasing the features and capabilities of our online technologies and service platforms. You will be managing a team of software developers, data professionals and other technology specialists. You will work closely with the Chief Information Officer, Head, Engineering, Director, Delivery Management and business stakeholders and leadership in order to deliver software and IT services that meet user needs. The successful candidate will be an intellectual, smart and evangelical leader with a developer mindset and proven expertise in developing enterprise scale solutions using industry recognized cloud platforms (MS Azure or AWS or similar), backend (.NET) and frontend technologies (Angular or React or similar). You will also be accountable for the creation and delivery of the strategic, software and IT architecture vision and leadership and all aspects of the development of the software.

You will be responsible for:
• Develop high volume, scalable server-side features utilizing .NET, C#, SQL and MS Azure
• Lead and manage the team of engineers and perform all required people management requirements for the department
• Participation in full-cycle software development including requirement and specification analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Contribute to the evolution of EDHC's reference architecture
• Employ leading-edge technology and software development principles to construct code that is optimized for high volume traffic and industry-leading customer experiences
• Partner with other engineering leadership to collaborate, design and validate appropriate engineering solutions and proof of concepts
• Create architectural design documents and technical vision for the team by creating long-term strategic road maps and phased plans that mature the architecture over several years
• Review solution designs and code and provide feedback to the team
• Support project planning by providing technical details on tasks, estimates, resource projections and project preparations
• Facilitate collaboration and coordinate development activities within an agile development environment
• Promote data governance, quality, and security across the enterprise
• Special projects as requested
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in IT preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Extensive experience in web development technologies, and design and development of web solutions using Microsoft Stack (Azure, SQL, C#, ASP.NET, Angular).
• 5+ years of leading development teams
• 12+ years of web application development with ASP.NET, MVC, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript
• 8+ years of strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, LINQ and Entity Framework
• 10+ years of strong development knowledge of REST APIs, Web Services, WCF services
• 8+ years of working experience with frontend technologies for HTML, JavaScript framework (such as Angular or React) and CSS framework/technologies (such as Bootstrap / SASS, LASS)
• 4+ Years developing platform native applications (mobile/windows etc.)
• 4+ Years developing back-end web services.
• Experience in data solutions especially within the MS Azure cloud platform
• Working knowledge of database development practices
• Working knowledge of enterprise reporting, business intelligence, and analytics platforms
• Successful implementation of platforms or complex systems over multiple years involving multiple domains and stakeholders
• Experience modeling data structures for document, column family and graph databases
• Working Experience with TFS or Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of Postman, Swagger, JIRA, Selenium is a plus
• Knowledgeable in OOA/D and N-tier application best practices and design patterns
• Experience with unit and integration testing and automated testing tools
• Must have excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving skills.
• Must demonstrate flexibility and excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete a variety of tasks accurately with high attention to detail and creativity
• Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively
