Your Role at Baxter

The Engineering Specialist is an exciting role leading design activities within our research and development team. Primary focus of the role will be to generate innovative solutions for new product development across a broad range of expertise.

What you'll be doing

• Provide technical expertise to drive strategic development plan
• Contributes as an expert within area of technical specialty
• Complete complex design and technical tasks, integrating information from a variety of disciplines.
• Makes difficult design trade-offs and decisions about features, schedule, quality and cost.
• Seeks the optimal technology solutions to problems from internal and external options, and applies appropriate methodology to identify issues/concerns.
• Primary accountability for architectural designs which can be leverages across multiple products
• Designs, develops and/or directs research and tests to validate effect and consequences of designs, process or product enhancements across projects and/or products.

What you'll bring

• 12+ years relevant experience developing commercial products (preferably in medical technology industry)
• Experience as a lead developer and architect for complex software systems
• Recognized as a subject matter expert in area such as embedded design, wireless communications, artificial intelligence, or related engineering specialties.
• Proven ability to apply specialized theoretical knowledge in a creative way to a broad range of difficult problems.
• Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Healthcare domain is a plus
• Experience with embedded RF technology (eg: BLE, NFC)

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $112,000 to $216,000 plus an annual incentive bonus, and equity target .The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
