What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a Engineering Support Technologist
Are you highly motivated and do you have a passion for contributing to our national security? We are seeking an Engineering Support Technologist for the Record of Assembly (ROA) team. You will utilize the ROA Application Suite (RD Update, Transmittals, Retrievals) to draft the Record of Assembly Data Requirements Definition (RD), fix transactions errors, and create data reports.
On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Work with PRT and Design Engineers to help with creating the RD
• Collaborate with other ROA teams to fix data errors
• Assist customers with Retrieval reports

Qualifications We Require

• Associate's degree plus two years of relevant experience, or six years equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Relevant experience includes; A working knowledge of engineering documentation, drawings, specifications, and/or reports.
• An active DOE Q-Level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire

• Familiarity with weapons product definition.
• Experience with ND weapon systems and familiarity with internal systems and components.
• Familiarity with product definition business rules and processes.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with customers and peers.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to be a self-starter with little or no supervision.
• Knowledge of military Weapon Information Reports or Nuclear Ordnance Record Cards is a plus.

About Our Team

The Record of Assembly Team regualarly interacts with customers to assist with Record of Assembly Data Requirements Definition (RD), investigates and fixes errors within the ROA database, coordinates with other NSE sites on ROA data, participates in the training of other departments, and ensures the integrity of the ROA data is priority 1. Our data assists the NSE with location of parts and assemblies within the national stockpile to aid in locating issues with components and save money in repairs and replacement of parts. The ROA is vital to ensuring the integrity and knowledge of where systems and individual parts are located within the stockpile

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
