THE ROLE
Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead who can lead the development of an early stage data platform from inception to launch (0-1) through the entire product lifecycle. You will partner with a Product Manager and your team of engineers to create a new core parts of our client's platform.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Manage and lead a team of 3-5 engineers and associated agile rituals like standups, planning, and retrospectives.
- Align your team around product OKRs/KPIs that you jointly focus on driving.
- Work with product managers and designers to build and realize new product features.
- Report on project statuses to the company.
- Perform peer code reviews to ensure the team is producing well-tested and maintainable code.
- Evangelize our software development best practices within the team.
- Active development with proper test coverage
- Support and optimize our critical production environment.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- 5+ years of experience building web applications.
- Experience leading projects and some form of managing, leading, or mentoring others.
- Ability to write clean, well-designed, and scalable code.
- Experience working with clinical data, including a strong understanding of medical terminology, healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), and interoperability challenges.
- Experience building modern, external (customer-facing) data products. Thorough understanding of data engineering concepts.
- First-hand professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
- Desire to work in a collaborative environment: interactions with the leadership team, product managers, and customer success teams.
- Knowledge of full-stack development.
