Engineering Team Lead

Job Summary:

We are in search of an enthusiastic and proactive Engineering Manager to join our expanding team. Your role will entail leading a skilled group of developers in crafting, refining, and deploying our fundamental infrastructure and AI models. This involves establishing and enforcing optimal practices across development, testing, and deployment phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish the technical direction and roadmap for the Big Data & Infrastructure team, in harmony with business objectives.
• Maintain proficient knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) principles, encompassing supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for designated projects, from requirement elicitation through design, coding, testing, to deployment.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to grasp requirements and translate them into technical blueprints.
• Cultivate a supportive and cooperative team atmosphere, offering mentorship and direction to team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of experience in software development, preferably in a startup setting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with a minimum of 3 years leading and motivating developer teams.
• Proficiency in system design fundamentals and industry best practices.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Python, Spark, Data Pipelines, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes (k8s).
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Dedication to crafting high-caliber, scalable, and sustainable software.
• Strong work ethic and adaptability to thrive in dynamic environments.

Skills:

• Familiarity with Big Data tools such as Airflow, Athena, Glue, Data Lake, and Delta Lake.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is advantageous.
• Background in managing Data Scientists to integrate ML models into production workflows.
• Familiarity with Microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI).
