Summary
The Maintenance Division, Aircraft Maintenance Branch at the Armstrong Flight Research Center is seeking a skilled individual to support research projects entailing the development and implementation of extensive research modifications. These modifications include troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, testing and evaluation of complex research aircraft systems and their interface to the basic research aircraft platform.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-11, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service:
- Assisting with performing the removal and installation of aircraft engines, flight controls, landing gear, fuel systems, and/or hydraulic systems and sub systems;
- Assisting with performing preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance, inspecting and analyzing physical conditions of components to ensure that all equipment is in reliable, operational, and flight worthy condition; AND
- Working with other technicians, engineers, and managers to resolve aircraft maintenance anomalies and make recommendations on resolution of the issue(s).
Education
Basic Requirement:
If you are using education completed in the United States to meet the qualification requirements, your degree must have been awarded from a college or university that is accredited by a recognized accrediting organization. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs. These education credentials must be deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. All degrees must have been received in the year of, or any year subsequent to the original date of accreditation

This appointment may be extended beyond the initial appointment date, for a period not to exceed a total of six years.
