Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base in the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- One-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- Must submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 upon entry, and annually thereafter
- Must be able to occasionally travel (10%) to attend workshops, training, or seminars.
- Position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
** Applicants MUST meet specialized experience to qualify. **
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) developing conceptual facility designs for review and approval; 2) ensuring the continuous operation of facilities involving the installation/repair of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, and control systems; AND 3) writing scopes of work for engineering or construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
