As an Engineering Technician V, you will be regarded as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and use your skills and expertise to perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
You'll be responsible for constructing, troubleshooting, calibrating, testing, and maintaining our equipment, components, devices, or systems. You'll ensure our systems and components meet established specifications.
Sierra Space, based in Louisville, Colorado with operations in Madison, Wisconsin, Durham, North Carolina, and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, designs and manufactures advanced spacecraft, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers and international organizations.
Must-haves:

• Associate's degree in a related field of study, at least 10 years of relevant experience
• A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
• Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications
• Comprehensive understanding of the use of standard laboratory test equipment, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, Oscilloscope, Pitot static equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tool

Preferred:

• IPC certificate (with Space Addendum)
• Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL
• Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation
• Understanding of soldering techniques
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with 3-D CAD software
• Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide and inspect the work of subordinates
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US Military
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances

• Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
• Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
• Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors
• Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
• Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $42.66 - $58.65
