About the Role:

As our Engineering Technology Support Specialist, you’ll be responsible for administering and improving the systems, tools, and processes for DCS Engineering technology, while augmenting project team capacity with consistent clerical and CAD work and support.  Your focus will be on standardization, automation, and modernization while off-loading clerical and drafting tasks from other engineering project team members. You will serve as a liaison to DCS IT and DCS Project Management Office (PMO) teams, connecting upstream engineering work with downstream procurement and fulfillment systems and processes while building and documenting robust, repeatable, scalable, and (where possible) automated collaboration practices that minimize repetitive data entry.

In this role, you will…

• Report to the Product Design Supervisor and serve as an active member of the DCS Product Design Team.
• Be the power-user and go-to-expert for best-practices for the DCS Engineering Software.
• Complete drafting and design tasks on individual projects where additional capacity is needed, specifically related to drawing redlines and as built drawings.
• Review and reconcile Engineering preorders and Bills of Materials, including aligning drawing and Excel BOMs, to ensure all materials are on order for each project.
• Manage Engineering drawing templates, drafting standards, training materials and manuals while standardizing CAD software, libraries, practices, and hardware.
• Standardize and document meta data/properties, keywords, file names, part numbers and revision schemes for the Engineering release process and Engineering change process.
• Track and log submission of Issued for Approval (IFA) engineering drawings to customers and uploading of Issued for Construction (IFC) engineering drawings to Procore, including data collection for confirmation of schedule compliance.
• Govern internal and external engineering standards and records, including CAD drawings, CAD models, and engineering Bills of Material.
• Partner with DCS IT teams to coordinate annual license renewals and upgrades for engineering software.
• Partner with DCS PMO teams as the Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Internal integration project.

We’re excited about you because…

• You have at least 8 years of relevant design engineering experience, preferably in the material handling space.
• You have a track record of delivering measurable cost avoidance and reductions in engineering process waste.
• You have technical expertise and a track record of success with most DCS engineering software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, Autodesk Vault, Configura CET, BlueBeam Revu, and Quickbase) and are excited in growing additional expertise, where lacking.
• You have 5 years of experience creating drawings and models in Inventor and AutoCAD for mechanical, electrical, and structural designs in compliance with ASME Y14 standards.
• You are a team-player who enjoys enabling the success of other team members and you have the tenacity to drive quality work to completion on time.
