The Enterprise Architect Lead will be responsible for driving OneAmerica's enterprise architecture and roadmap development and adoption within a given business or functional area. This leader will be the key advocate for enterprise strategy, standards, best practices, patterns and enable the adoption of such in various enterprise programs. The Enterprise Architect Lead stays abreast of both business and technology in a given business/technology area and uses that knowledge to define and drive new solutions to deliver value for our business faster and more cost efficiently. This particular role will have a focus in the area of cybersecurity and infrastructure.
Responsibilities include:
- Define the strategic direction of security & infrastructure capabilities and technical standards to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information throughout the enterprise.
- Strategically lead multiple efforts, or a single large effort, of analysis, design, scope, and approach of security solutions.
- Provide technical governance and consultation throughout the enterprise.
- Liaise among architecture and IT security & infrastructure groups
- Lead & support the strategic planning efforts
- Collaborate with other EAs, application and data architects, Solution Architects, Cloud Architects to advocate/promote standards and best practice, and develop re-useable patterns and drive solution pattern adoption within OA
- Perform feasibility studies of potential solutions
- Identifying the best technical solutions that can be rolled out efficiently and, in a cost-effective manner
- Lead and advise teams building solutions on various platforms, including design, planning, management, maintenance and assessing systems for potential weaknesses or issues.
- Collaborate across organizational functions to identify communications, change management and training needs driven by the adoption of integration technologies
- Facilitate technical and design discussions with IT executives to help the enterprise improve outcomes through new technologies and best practices
- Ensures appropriate operational procedures, processes and tools are in place and appropriately managed.
Job Requirements
Required Education and/or Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related business discipline or equivalent work experience in addition to role specific certifications and education
Recommended Education and/or Certifications
- Masters or other related advanced degrees
- Preferred Certifications: CISSP-ISSAP, GDSA, CCSP, one or more Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, SABSA, FEA, Zachman, etc.)
Required Work Experience
- 10+ years' experience with IT Infrastructure, Security, Operations, or Integration engineering
- 10+ years' experience in designing and implementation of complex IT systems or consulting experience with distributed applications or systems architecture
- 3-5 years of experience in solution architecture
- Experience in implementing SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS Architectures
- Experience driving discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
- An expert communicator up, down, and across reporting lines
- Organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment
- Ability to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams
- Well organized and possess outstanding follow-through and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal communication and diplomacy skills, as well as a passion for leading
- Familiarity with insurance, financial services business processes a plus
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Salary Band: 07C
This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
