Enterprise Data Architect
Kansas City, MO / St. Louis, MO / Cincinnati, OH / Missoula, MT / Virtual
This is a remote position open to any qualified applicant in the United States.

Position Overview:
The mission of the Enterprise Data Architect is to provide strategic technical leadership that enables business success as impacted by technology and its application to business systems (integrated technology, process, and work done by people). The Enterprise Data Architect will accomplish this mission in environments where ATG's clients face a variety of enterprise challenges around Q2C systems associated with the ATG Monetization Ecosystemβ’ such as enterprise transformation, digital transformation, rapidly changing business models, technology, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
The Enterprise Data Architect will primarily assess, architect, design, facilitate, lead and direct data architecture in multiple contexts while working closely with the ATG Advisory and Transformation team and the ATG Delivery organization as we guide our clients to be successful with all aspects of their new or evolving Enterprise Architecture. Additionally, the Enterprise IT Architect is responsible for developing training material and working with others at ATG to be successful with assessments and implementations.
Key Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering with recent Enterprise Big Data experience
- 5+ years of current experience defining and implementing Enterprise Data strategies
- M.S. Software Engineering, or B.S. Software Engineering / M.S. Information Technology Management, or Equivalent Formal
Education:
- Current Salesforce Application Architect certification a plus
- Extensive experience with systems development, data modeling, and database design
- Strong experience with Multi-cloud and Hybrid-cloud solutions
- Strong experience with data integration solutions
- Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, other Cloud Platforms, and Big Data environments
Detailed Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in the design of complex enterprise Data systems and their respective architectures
- Discovering and gathering system(s) requirements
- Analyzing and integrating data systems across platforms/networks
- Formulation of data solution context
- Identifying and assessing solution alternatives
- Assessing and selecting alternative technologies
- Configuring designs and diagramming same
- Strong capabilities with common tools-of-the-trade and technologies (e.g. Data Modeling, UML, BPM, Logical Architecture Diagram, Data Architecture Diagram, Patterns, ER Diagram, ETL, DWH, Apache Hive/Hadoop, RedShift)
Deep working and technical knowledge (Subject Matter Expert) in multiple disciplines that include:
- Data Warehouse
- Multi-cloud architecture
- Hybrid-cloud architecture
- Data Governance
- Creation and maintenance of infrastructure supporting complex data environment(s)
- Cross-platform design, build, integration and maintenance
- SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and other "-as-a-Service" disciplines
- Innovation: ideation, idea selection, execution, better outcome achievement
- User experience: Impact of architecture/design on end user
Method-driven approach to execution:
- Uses recognized data architecture and design methods
- Comfortable deploying parts of methods appropriate to the situation
- Able to produce body of work through repeated successful use of patterns with more than one architecture and design method, applying appropriate parts of different methods as a given situation dictates, and knowing anti-patterns and what methods not to use
- Must have working knowledge of entire project life cycle: design, planning, development, testing, implementation and production
- Able to monitor execution of solution design against reference architecture, identify deviations and other issues suggesting risk during project execution, and intervene when appropriate
- Able to gather information during execution of solution design to identify and document lessons learned, inform the trade-offs required in making decisions, and ensure better future decisions

- Must collaborate and think critically in a team-based environment to solve problems
- Assertive in substantiating and making key decisions within areas of primary responsibility

- Strong focus on working with functional and project managers to make decisions in a timely manner and keep work on track, within budget, schedule and other constraints
This position may require additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload in order to meet project milestones and implementation deadlines. Hours and compensation for this position will vary depending on projects and experience and may require up to 50% travel.
Education:
- 4-year degree in a technical or business field of study preferred
- Understanding of the Quote to Cash process (CPQ, Order Management, Billing, and CRM) a plus
Location and Travel:
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
- Desired locations are ATG Delivery Centers, located in Missoula, MT, Cincinnati, OH, Kansas City, MO or St. Louis, MO, however for senior experienced professionals working virtual may be an option.
