OVERVIEW:

This is an Enterprise Architecture position focused on improving and modernizing the current business delivery of Evernorth Benefit Management+ Technology.

The Evernorth growth platform generates a significant portion of Cigna's revenue and earnings today and will serve as the birthplace of multiple capabilities within the Destination State (e.g. Virtual Care). Benefit Management+ is a key domain with in the Evernorth business. This role will be responsible for forming and driving the execution of strategy and roadmap delivery for Evernorth Benefit Management+ Technology capabilities, both current capabilities and future horizontal, innovative capabilities aligned with the Evernorth business.

As an Enterprise Architect focused on Evernorth Technology, you will be responsible for architecting business value outcomes through context and competency driven engagement within Evernorth Benefit Management+. This includes building, guiding , and overseeing architecture , processes, and deliverables at multiple levels and throughout the delivery life cycle to ensure alignment with strategies and roadmaps, accelerate delivery across the Evernorth Benefit Management+ portfolio, identify optimization opportunities, and manage trade-offs, impacts, risk, opportunities, and value creation.

The role requires high levels of influence within the Evernorth Benefit Management+ and Enterprise Architecture organizations, business knowledge and savvy, innovative problem solving skills, and in-depth Technological acumen. This role is expected to serve as a trusted partner and advisor at all levels within the Evernorth Benefit Management+.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the Evernorth Benefit Management+ Technology architectural vision and strategy to deliver best in class software solutions that are in alignment with the Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture vision.
  • Develop and implement a robust and achievable roadmap for Evernorth Technology that facilitates the transition from the current state to the Destination State.
  • Determine most effective way to leverage existing and emerging technologies to attain competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Develop outstanding, strategic relationships within Evernorth and the Enterprise Architecture organization and with key vendors to architect best-in-class solutions that meet the needs of the business and our customers.
  • Collaborates with disparate technology vendors, partners & solution providers to deliver Evernorth Technology capabilities.
  • Architect for business value outcomes within Evernorth Benefit Management+ by developing architecture blueprints and patterns that align with best-in-class design and software engineering principles.
  • Develop and promote architecture best practices and guidelines for Evernorth Benefit Management+ Technology aligning
  • Ensure that target Evernorth Benefit Management+ architectures enable DevSecOps.
  • Work with Business Architects, Business Leaders, IT / Delivery leaders, Project Managers, and portfolio planners to define and develop a cohesive and efficient approach to support business functions
  • Work with business, solution, and integration architects across technology groups as necessary to ensure the architecture strategies advance enterprise business capabilities
  • Identify and Lead technical research and analysis and make recommendations on potential approaches to achieve business and IT capabilities
  • Lead vendor and tool selection in alignment with strategic architecture
  • Assign tasks to solution team partners and may direct their activities
  • Communicate "big picture" to Business and IT stakeholders at all levels of the organization to achieve alignment with target state architecture and roadmap
  • Direct multiple teams of architects involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of large-scale IT architecture projects

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • BA/BS degree in Software engineering, Computer Science or related field, advanced degree a plus
  • 8+ years' experience in software engineering or architecture environment
  • Critical thinker - able to integrate company goals and objectives into an executable roadmap
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and negotiation skills with technical and non-technical groups with a demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders at any level within the organization
  • Deep practitioner of Agile and Lean Start-Up methodologies
  • Skilled at IT strategic planning and capability development with experience implementing technology strategy and roadmaps
  • Demonstrated capability as a lifecycle problem solver (idea -> implementation)
  • Skilled at aligning technology capabilities to business solutions
  • Must be solution-oriented and business minded with significant practical experience in building, delivering, and supporting IT systems in the evolution to becoming an architect

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Agile development and architecture/delivery experience
  • Experience in Plafform architecture and design
  • Experience in Software as a service, multi-tenancy architecture
  • Experience in automation, chat bot, machine learning, preferred.
  • Experience with version control and defect management systems
  • Experience with developing teams in a fast-paced software delivery environment
  • Ability to guide, mentor, and grow technologists and managers
  • Ability to integrate people and teams
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate and empower others
  • Experience in Healthcare, Pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Management Business and IT a plus

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of $120,100 - $200,100, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
