Summary

Xcel Energy has an opportunity for a summer internship with the Information Technology organization. This unique internship will offer access to work with the Enterprise Data and Analytics- Business Intelligence Department. The successful candidate will gain insight and exposure to the elements of how business Intelligence works. Over the course of the summer (30-40 hours weekly), the intern will work on specific projects within the EDA-BI department with a final presentation expected. The intern will have the opportunity to participate in several site visit opportunities as well as intern networking engagements.

IT Service Delivery - how does IT contribute to company results (business objectives and goals as well as strategic planning)

Business Intelligence- The intern will support the EDA BI department with analytical needs and a specific project working in SharePoint. Responsibilities will include gathering reporting requirements, assisting with the development of new reports using a variety of tools. Also merging SharePoint sites and documentation/knowledge share processes. Assisting with assignments from various business areas and learning new data sources. Learning different tools such as Business Objects, Teradata, JMP, Lumira, SharePoint, and writing SQL.

Requirements

The applicant must be energetic and competent, and willing to commit to a minimum of 30-40 hours a week over the summer within the Xcel Energy Information Technology organization. The applicant's graduation date must not precede the completion date of the summer internship program.

Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, analytics, or business. Must be a current student. No graduate student applicants, please.

• Freshman through Senior standing (must not be graduated if senior)

• High academic standing - GPA of 3.2 or higher

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

• Strong work ethic and initiative

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Any experiences with the following technologies would be desired -SharePoint, Microsoft products, Java Script, SQL Server, SQL, Project Management Experience, Oracle, OSISoft® PI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Python, R, SAP HANA, Teradata, Business Objects, Databricks, Jira.

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $17.00 per hour
