Enterprise Data Architect
Job Description
We have partnered with our client in their search for an Enterprise Solutions Architect.
Responsibilities
- Provides data architecture thought leadership to cross-functional teams in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data discovery, statistical methods, database design and implementation.
- Recommend and define how data architecture constructs like transactional, operational and analytical data and presentation layer data stores should be leveraged to enable business capabilities and create ease of access to data for all stakeholders.
- Manage the development and maintenance of an enterprise data model at the conceptual and logical level with traceability to the physical level to facilitate migration to a rationalized set of data definitions and provide consistency across applications and business areas.
- Develop, create, and enforce best practices to support project teams in delivering data solutions that meet agility, performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
- Support the data governance function around meta-data management to ensure an integrated definition of data for enterprise information, and to ensure the accuracy, validity, and reusability of meta-data.
- Participating in developing consistent definitions and overall implementation for master data and reference data management.
- Establishing measures to chart progress related to completeness and quality of meta-data for enterprise information, to support reduction of data redundancy and fragmentation, elimination of unnecessary movement of data, and improvement of data quality.
- Supports Enterprise Data Architecture roadmap by managing architectural runway for enterprise data model, enterprise data store/warehouse, information management, and advanced data analytics capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with other IT Enterprise Architecture teams to build a roadmap for data architecture defining how the organization will migrate to the future state in support of business strategies.
- Guide the delivery of cost-effective, high-performance technology capabilities leveraging enterprise information architecture principles and core data assets.
- Establishes collaborative, cross-functional relationships with other data teams; communicating information and providing advice to drive enterprise data architecture decisions forward.
- Drive selection of data engineering and data management tools, and the development of standards and guidelines/procedures related to the usage of these tools.
- Seek opportunities to introduce the latest methods, trends, capabilities and products to advance the data practice of the organization.
- Participate in hands-on data engineering projects for design, development, testing and deployment activities.
- Influences, mentors and coaches team members, and fostering open dialogue amongst team members.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years' experience in Enterprise Data Architecture.
- 10+ years' experience working in and with data lakes, data warehouses, streaming platforms, and cloud platforms.
- 7+ years' experience in implementing dimensional/relational modeling using data modeling tools such as ERWin or other comparable tools.
- 5+ years' experience in cloud technologies, preferably GCP.
- Expert knowledge of ETL concepts, development, and experience with various Data Tools in the market - on-prem and cloud.
- Expert knowledge on SQL, python and other utilities in data engineering space.
- Strong experience with Data Design and Data Strategy.
- Strong knowledge of data governance practices like Master data management & reference data management.
- Strong knowledge of cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, MS Synapse.
- Must have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
