THE ROLE: Enterprise Cloud Data Architect

Job Summary:

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing data strategies, architectures, and solutions to support the client organization's business objectives. You will collaborate closely with various client stakeholders to understand business needs, define data requirements, and design scalable, efficient, and secure data architectures. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making and ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and reliability of enterprise data assets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Define data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish data quality frameworks and oversee data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes.
  • Define data storage, integration, and distribution architectures, leveraging both traditional and emerging technologies (e.g., relational databases, data lakes, cloud platforms, etc.).
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate data management tools, technologies, and platforms to optimize data architecture and infrastructure.
  • Partner with business intelligence and analytics teams to design and implement data analytics solutions, including data warehouses, data marts, and OLAP cubes.
  • Define data access and retrieval mechanisms to enable self-service analytics and reporting capabilities for end-users.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and usability of data analytics platforms and tools to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to understand business needs, gather requirements, and prioritize data initiatives.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to junior team members and other stakeholders.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of data architecture principles, practices, and technologies, including data modeling, database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Hands-on experience with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), and cloud data services on AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience (12+ years) working as a data architect or in a similar role, designing and implementing enterprise-level data solutions.
