LOCATION: This position can be hybrid based out of Anoka, MN, St. Louis Park, MN or Solon, Ohio.

This Enterprise role is integral in driving Lean in our newly acquired companies and building awareness around the power of Lean plus Digital. In this strategic role you will lead our global enterprise Lean function and support our 3 segments with process, system, strategy and competency.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Develop, drive and execute key strategic Lean initiatives across the enterprise while applying best in class thought leadership.
  • Champion and own business-wide, end-to-end process excellence to achieve best in class Lean standards.
  • Build Lean enterprise processes, standards, capabilities and certification to deliver continuous improvement, year after year
  • Champion the deployment of the "Digital Production Platform" Strategy across nVent including processes, training and investments needed.
  • Actively contribute on key business unit projects to deliver results for stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistency in applying lean principles across the enterprise in all segments and functional areas.
  • Lead and influence collaborative cross-functional engagement in the process of ongoing and sustainable improvement and change.
  • Provide knowledge, coaching and mentoring of Lean Principles and Methods within the focused business areas.
  • Champion the Lean and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the entire organization (front and back office), leading through influence and collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with entire enterprise to establish and sustain transformation plans.
  • Prioritize improvement opportunities based on strategy deployment and tactical planning objectives such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Growth, and Cost.
  • Develop others on Lean principles and tools for implementing creative solutions for system and process improvements (e.g., Strategy Deployment, Value Stream Mapping & Transformation Planning, Standard Work, 3-P, RGP, Lean Culture Development & Lean Thinking).
  • Support all locations in meeting and sustainment of the standards set in Lean assessment and transformation plans
  • Stay current with technologies and lean concepts through continuing education and benchmarking.
  • Drive Lean assessment and certification deployment and improvement across nVent. Define best practices, subject matter experts and opportunities for improvements to help drive operational performance and metrics.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required, advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years' experience in global manufacturing or industrial environment with multi-site leadership experience in Lean, and/or Operations.
  • Lean Manufacturing formal training required. Lean Mastery/certification preferred.
  • Experience in developing "Digital Production Platform" Strategy across multi sites and regions including visuals, processes, systems and training material.
  • Ability to standardize processes throughout enterprise by identifying benchmark(s) and transferring the knowledge to new locations.
  • Ability to lead problem solving hands-on (process FMEA, Control plans, RCA/RCCM, PPAP, etc).
  • Results driven, able to lead and influence across all levels of a matrix organization, be flexible and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience and skill with lean processes and culture. Ability to use six sigma quality toolset within umbrella of lean enterprise.
  • Ability to work in different geographies and travel as required, with expected range of up to 50% travel.
