The Enterprise Market Data Vendor Manager is responsible for supporting Strategic Sourcing and internal business partners throughout the vendor lifecycle. This includes the day to day relationship management of market data suppliers as well as the strategic review of vendor products and services. The Vendor Manager will also be expected to maintain internal cross-functional collaboration to promote continuous improvement and working together across areas to solve issues and meet business goals.
Responsibilities:
• Develops and maintains library of good practice examples of RFPs, service level agreements and vendor monitors to enable internal partners to benefit from corporate knowledge and experience.
• Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers, drive efficiencies, add value and reduce cost of products and services.
• Collaborate with internal business owners to understand their vendor opportunities and relationships to help drive efficiency and quality, primarily through leading regularly scheduled business reviews and global vendor summaries.
• Researches and evaluates new vendor sources; contacts potential suppliers and establishes relationships with vendors to form them into strategic partners.
• Work with key internal partners to define and describe vendor requirements.
• Develops and maintain strong, effective long term working relationships with key business decision makers internally and externally with assigned vendors to drive best of breed product and services selection.
• Collaborate with business and other partners to manage the escalation and resolution of critical vendor issues, including communication of issue tracking and remediation updates.
Requirements:
• An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance and/or relevant work experience required.
• Five to eight years relevant vendor manager or relationship management experience in the financial services industry.
• Prior experience with market data vendors such as Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, IHS Markit, ICE Data Services, MSCI, FTSE Russell, etc. a plus.
• Good organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management and meeting deadlines.
• Strong business partner/relationship management skills, and ability to be seen as a trusted partner, ensuring pro-active engagement of the Enterprise Market Data team by business partners.
• Effective communicator with excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to executive management.
• Demonstrate exceptional analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Strong project/program management skills.
