Grange provides a unique internship experience through the Grange Intern Development Program. The 10-week program is designed to expose students to the insurance industry through networking, mentoring, hands-on work experience, and community service. The interns will work day-to-day in their respective departments while also working as a group on a corporate project, as well as community and team building events. Potential to extend beyond 10-week program and potential for full-time upon graduation.

Summary:

Be part of a dynamic Enterprise Risk Management team that oversees identification and management of strategic, insurance, capital market, and operational risk impacting Grange. We strive to create a risk-conscious culture that enhances management's ability to make risk-intelligent decisions about events and trends that pose a risk or provide an opportunity for achieving enterprise objectives and exceed stakeholder expectations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Effectively support critical Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) initiatives such as corporate risk governance, risk identification, and risk communication/reporting through both independent critical thinking and collaboration with business risk owners and other key stakeholders across the company.
  • Initiatives may include development and implementation of operational risk management practices, establishing key risk indicators, external analysis and benchmarking of key risks, design and enhancements to risk and control matrices, model risk management maturity, evaluation of risk committee performance and charter updates, risk culture surveys, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Support creating executive presentations.
  • Support a small team and get technical and leadership coaching that will enhance your skills.

What You'll Bring To The Company:

  • Majoring in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Business Management or other applicable fields
  • 1 - 2 years of financial classes or equivalent experience
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Previous software experience preferred (Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint)
