This transformation leader for West Monroe will be responsible for providing leadership, management, and creating the strategy and vision necessary to run and drive our Global Shared Services team, while expanding our global footprint to support our business. In this highly visible role, you will have full responsibility for building and managing our Shared Services global footprint of General & Administrative (of SG&A). As West Monroe expands globally, this individual will continue be instrumental in helping our Shared Services teams to expand near/offshore, while setting up operating centers across the world. With a key focus on increasing efficiencies and decreasing costs, setting our SLAs, etc. this leader will also be responsible for identifying and assessing new Shared Services functions while continuing to evolve and evaluate all options for the firm.

You will be a key contributor to the execution of the firm’s strategic direction, bringing deep expertise in enterprise process improvement and will be an operations excellence/continuous improvement evangelist with responsibility for leveraging technology to streamline processes to support our rapid expansion as a leading digital services firm.   

The successful candidate for this role will be a highly collaborative leader who builds strong and productive relationships with all stakeholders, acting as a true partner and leader across the organization in building and executing our process improvement/increased efficiency mindset. You will need proven experience leading, creating, and driving large-scale shared services strategies, and discovering and implementing processes that enable streamlined employee experiences and drive greater client impact.

Other responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate and build trust with consulting, operations, HR, and other shared services leadership to develop a strategic vision for shared services. Establish goals and priorities for shared services to meet the organization’s needs now and in the future.
  • Ensure West Monroe is fit for growth by teaming to drive strategic planning and investments; strategic cost management; strategic combinations and integrations; and technology enablement.
  • Lead stakeholder planning and strategy meetings. Ensure all parties are aware of strategic direction, risks, progress, and results.
  • Partner with technology leadership to coordinate the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future digital technologies and solutions
  • Participate as a member of the executive team in governance processes of the organization’s culture, and people processes, and architecture, software, data strategy, network, and devices.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Ensure future investments (people, product, process, and technology) successfully integrate into our shared services operating model
  • Assess and communicate risk and impact associated with operational investments and purchase
  • Provide support for strategic acquisitions by providing leadership in the evaluation of shared services functions and teams that accompany them, and drive post-acquisition shared services integration planning
  • Drive adoption of shared services best practices, processes, and technologies to help build WMP intellectual property

Operational & Management

  • Act as primary liaison for the company’s global operations vision via regular written and in-person communications across the organization
  • Lead a global shared services team driving adoption of our global platform
  • Actively drive changes to the broader culture and operation of the firm as needed
  • Perform an ongoing assessment of West Monroe shared services capabilities and recommend changes to ensure the firm is seen as a leader
  • Collaborate with other executive team members to prioritize initiatives and to then pilot and integrate at scale into the evolving operating model

Qualifications:

This leader must be a seasoned executive, operational strategist, process improvement expert, and change agent with experience establishing global organizations.

  • Hands on business leader with a minimum of 20 years of demonstrated progressive accomplishments, ideally in a consulting or services environment
  • A proven track record building high-performing teams in a services/consulting environment
  • A passion for West Monroe’s core values of putting people first, delivering great solutions, building the next generation of leaders, and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience in a role such as a Head of Operations, Chief Operating Officer, or related senior Operations role with a focus on either process improvement/automation OR IT (process automation, machine learning & AI, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) 
  • Experience in consulting operations on an international scale
  • Managing processes and activities across multiple geographies
  • Setting up or managing outsourced services (provided by third parties)
  • Managing employees in global locations including Costa Rica
  • Business process mapping
  • Managing technology and automation projects
  • Implementing or managing business performance measurement frameworks, as well as control or risk management frameworks
  • People management including hiring, setting targets, performance management and coaching/development of staff
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% to our offices to build relationships across the organization
