Entry Game Software Developer

Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Game Software Developer to join the team and provide insights for development with Unreal Engine (UE) supporting the Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal | Warren, MI.Candidates applying for this position will have the opportunity to integrate software with UE and develop visualization applications to be used by soldiers and civilians. The candidate will be expected to work closely with other developers, artists, and customers to develop quality software products. Candidate is expected to develop in fast iteration producing maintainable, testable, well-structured applications. Candidate should be able to take direction and work independently as well as with a team. Candidate should be dependable and self-motivated, eager to overcome challenges and solve problems. Previous experience working within a DoD environment is a plus, but not required. Candidate must be able to work in person daily at the Torch Michigan office located in Sterling Heights, MI.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A technical degree with 0-2years of experience(multiple positions).
• Advanced understanding and experience with C++
• Strong understanding of how to use C++ for development with UE
• Strong understanding of how to use Blueprints for development in UE
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design
• Experience with testing software
• Experience optimizing software
• Familiarity with source control repositories such as Git and Gitlab
• Must be a team player and know the importance of listening to others. Be a positive, active, and contributing member of the team.
• This position may require occasional and infrequent travel. This position requires access to protected government data and as such required an appropriate background check and may require a DOD security clearance. Employment is contingent upon successful background check and maintaining appropriate clearances.
