Intara Talent Solutions is now seeking Associate Examiners to join our team.

In this role, the Associate Examiner will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting insurance policy forms, rating plans, and rules for Commercial Lines products such as Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Multi-Peril, General Liability, Medical Malpractice, and Commercial Automobile, etc.. The Associate Examiner is accountable for independently performing complex tasks related to the review of insurance policy forms and rates, investigation and mediation of consumer complaints or examination of insurance company records and market and/or business practices or analysis of financial statements and related records.

- Maintains strict confidentiality and security of the personal health information contained in the data sources.
- Perform complex related duties involving review of insurance company policy and rate filings, examination of insurance companies' market conduct and/or business practices or investigation and mediation of consumer complaints for compliance with relevant statutes and regulations.
- Examine all related types of insurance policy forms based upon assigned functional area for new and unusual products.
- May conduct studies of cost, content, and availability of various lines of insurance.
- May independently conduct investigation of complaints against insurance companies including complicated cases and issues.
- May lead or independently conduct market examinations of insurance companies for compliance with relevant state statutes and guidelines including rates charged and claims practices.
- Ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
- Prepares reports of examinations and/or investigations.
- Assists in the preparation of material for criminal and/or administrative cases.
- May review loss reserve methodology including testing of underlying data and examining the adequacy of an insurer's loss reserve.
- Participates in the drafting of regulations and bulletins.
- Performs ad hoc tasks/duties as assigned.
- Exercises appropriate discretion and independent judgment relating to company policies and practices in an effective, consistent and professional manner.
- Adheres to applicable policies and procedures ensuring commitment to quality, compliance and security to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and information.
Requirements
Â
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Economics, Finance, or related degree from an accredited college or university, or Associate Degree and 6 years of experience, or High School Diploma and 8 years of experience.
- Two (2) years of professional private or public work experience in one or more of the following areas: Insurance, health care service contractors, or health maintenance organizations, Accounting, banking, finance, auditing, analysis, law, or closely aligned fields.
- (Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the insurance industry, health care service contractors, or health maintenance organizations.)
- Basic skill level with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in analyzing complex data sets and information from various sources.
- Experience in reviewing for compliance with insurance laws and regulations, especially ACA & CAA
- Ability to independently write detailed reports indicating potential compliance issues, recommend next steps on an established timeline, and meet deadlines.
- Advance skill level with Microsoft Office - Word and Excel.
- Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office – Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Tableau.
- Working towards an industry-specific designation such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI), Certified Insurance Examiner (CIE), Accredited Insurance Examiner (AIE), or Associate Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC).
