Job Description

What you'll do

Reporting to the Engineering Team lead, as a Maverick Engineer, you will help us perform programmable logic controller/DCS programming, troubleshooting and operational support on a variety of platforms (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Honeywell, Foxboro, and Emerson platforms) for our customers in the Louisiana and Texas area.

You will design, test and commission complex control system solutions for our customers. You may also analyze existing systems, develop functional specifications, network architecture drawings, input/output assignments, and specify working parameters proper control action/tuning. You will coordinate integration of subsystems into our customer's control system; additionally, you will resolve program support deficiencies. You may also develop and recommend corrective actions for efficient operations.

Your Principal Role Responsibilities:

  • You will provide engineering support in the process of designing, configuring, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrument and process control systems.
  • You will develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Work in a team environment under the supervision of a senior or principal engineer
  • Develop control system solutions using experience in process automation, controls, and instrumentation for industrial manufacturing companies.
  • You may help coordinate operation and maintenance of control system equipment and systems in field installations.
  • You will learn and apply client and company standards and procedures, specifically Maverick's Project Complete quality system.
  • Maintain regular contact with project personnel to complete deliverables and goals while keeping your direct manager aware of project timelines and commitments.
  • You will help develop technical scope of work and specifications for project applications.
  • You will learn and maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offerings, and their application.
  • Provide information to your project managers in the development and monitoring of projects.
  • You are responsible for successful completion of both in-house and client-focused testing; follow predefined client and company specifications and requirements observing safety standards.
  • You may participate in other responsibilities as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:

  • You are authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Rockwell/Maverick will not sponsor individuals for this role.
  • You will travel to customer sites up to 30%
  • Bachelor's degree


Your Additional Qualifications

  • You have a completed bachelor's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • 0 to 1 years' experience working in the manufacturing industry with education in engineering and process controls
  • 0 to 1 years' professional or schooling experience with programmable logic controllers, programming and human machine interfaces.
  • Desire to serve in a customer-facing position
  • You have a wish to work within a team environment to help us attain common goals
  • You desire to apply basic theory to practical engineering applications and to provide technical guidance
