Entry-Level AutoCAD Designer for Automation/Control Systems

Job Summary

Our company is seeking an Entry-Level AutoCAD Designer for Automation/Control Systems to join our internal project team. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop automation design packages, including mechanical, electrical, networking, integration, and manufacture of DCS and PLC-based control systems, with a primary emphasis on using Emerson Process Management DeltaV platforms. The candidate will work within the assigned technical scope, budget, and schedule, with direct responsibility for results. They will also interact with cross-functional groups to support proposal, engineering, and delivery of automation control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D system hardware design specifications (drawing packages) for automation/control systems, including mechanical designs, electrical designs, wireless designs, BUS technology designs, specifications, architectures, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Execute assigned tasks, with defined goals, under technical leadership and minimal supervision. Assignments will be reviewed by the Engineer of Design.
• Maintain a high level of design accuracy and consistency while adhering to project and department standards.
• Work within assigned technical scope, budget, and schedule with direct responsibility for results.
• Increase efficiencies through the use of approved and proven tools.
• Participate in sales support activities, including reviewing engineering estimates and schedules as they relate to scoped CAD activities.
• Participate in the maintenance and development of department standards for AutoCAD and automation design tool libraries.

Requirements

• Associates or Technical Degree in CAD Drafting Technologies or equivalent.
• Applied use and working knowledge in CAD/Drafting design using Autodesk software applications.
• Prior experience in control system CAD design, electrical CAD design, light duty mechanical CAD design is a plus but not necessary.
• Knowledge in 3D CAD/Modeling design is a plus but not necessary.
• Knowledge in Architectural design is a plus but not necessary.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Applied knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated
