Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist to be based in our Baton Rouge, LA office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.

This position is expected to begin April/May 2023.

Job Overview:

The Entry-Level Geologist will assist our Remediation team both in the field and in office, supporting soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a collaborative team environment.

The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting environmental field work, including soil logging, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
• Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.
• Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology, or closely related field
• Valid driver's license
• Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of related work experience, overseeing drilling operations a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Travel is required for this position. Candidates will be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

• This is an in-office position. Candidates are expected to reside in Baton Rouge, LA or relocate if necessary.
