Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking skilled, team-oriented software developers to work with an advanced air and missile defense (AMD) simulation tools. Developers will work in a team-oriented environment to develop, modify, and improve modeling & simulation pre-processing, post-processing, and data analysis tools. Candidate must demonstrate problem solving skills and quickly gain domain specific knowledge. Work will be performed both individually and as part of a larger development team, including interacting with analysts and end users to identify and correct software defects and add new capabilities.

Job Requirements

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or other STEM degree from an ABET accredited school.

Required skills:

- Python
- Data structures and algorithms
- Linux computing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills:

- Python packages: Pandas, Numpy, and Plotly
- Modeling and Simulation concepts
- Data Science concepts
- Software threading and network communications
- Java and/or C++
- Matlab
- Object Oriented Design and Programming (OOD/OOP)
- Team-based Software Development Tools (Git, GitLab, etc.)

Travel for this position may be required
