Position Summary The Environmental Services/EVS Worker is responsible for maintaining the building interior by providing floor care, completing housekeeping related items and ensuring sanitary conditions in assigned areas throughout the building. Essential Functions o Performs tasks in assigned areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals, including but not limited to: dusting, scrubbing, shining, vacuuming, making beds, washing linens, spot cleaning of walls, floors, windows, bath tile and fixtures in baths, drapes/curtains, ceilings, vents, etc., refilling soap, paper towels and other items in restrooms, etc. o Maintains cleaning equipment to ensure proper operational use o Keeps cleaning cart well supplied/stocked o Oversees supply storage room to assist in organization of items, proper storage and well-maintained stock o Reports all equipment in need of repair or of shortages of supplies to supervisor o Removes/empties trash from trash containers throughout community (common areas, Administrative offices, restrooms, on Harbors floors, etc.) and brings items to respective areas to ensure proper disposal (includes cardboard & other recyclables, as well as items for the landfill) o Responsible for proper use of recycle and trash dumpsters o Assists with bed stripping/redressing and linen removal on Health Services floors/The Harbors, as well as performing washing of the linens when needed o Works collaboratively with other team members with cleaning schedules, etc. to help expedite work o Responsible for reporting any unusual circumstances regarding residents to immediate supervisor o Assists with setup and breakdown for parties/events held by The Admiral at the Lake o Assists with tasks that may require heavy lifting, including but not limited to, moving of furniture, trash removal/disposal and use of the trash compactor, etc. o Responsible for performing floor care tasks, such as carpet shampooing and/or buffing, etc. o Accomplishes other duties as assigned Competencies o Adequate reading skills and ability to comprehend oral instructions o Attention to detail o Capable of learning required methods of cleaning used at The Admiral at the Lake o Ability to work independently without close supervision, as well as work collaboratively with other team members Education and Experience o 1 year of prior Environmental Services/Housekeeping experience, preferred but not required o Prior experience using floor care equipment (carpet shampooer or floor buffer), preferred but not required
